This weekend was the Giles' maiden voyage in their new camper, so we met at Clear Creek Recreation Area in Alabama - new state stickers for all of us! We won't put to record the rookie mishaps that occurred that weekend (bent shaft) but just know the Giles were tenacious about camping & made it to the campground just a couple of hours late and only a couple hundred dollars poorer.
We loved our double-wide site 94D in the Bear Loop. Because our loop didn't have water views it wasn't as popular as the other loops - good news is we had the loop pretty much to ourselves so the kids got to roam the area freely on their scooters & bikes. Morgan & Bella even got to do some off-leash roaming. Lots of PI though.

We all tie dyed t-shirts, so look for them on future trips. We also spent an afternoon at the lake (Lake Lewis Smith). The beach was nice, and had lots of shaded grassy areas to sit.

The best sites for water views are 18-26 in the Fox loop. These sites are not pre-assigned, so you can reserve a site in the loop ahead of time, but won't know the specific site until you arrive. Bear loop was reservable for specific sites.
